
Physiotherapy Project for the Women of Rural Jashore
1) What are we going to do?
Evaluating Outcome of Physiotherapy (MDT & Kegal exercise) on Women having lumbar disc herniation (LDH) & Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES) residing in the villages of Jashore, Bangladesh
2) How many women will be treated?
60 (sixty)
3) Outcome measurement tools?
Straight leg raise (SLR), Dural Sign, MRI of L/S Spine, Neurological assessment, Ultrasonography evaluation of Bladder (Post-void residual volume), Disability by Oswestry Disability Index (ODI)
4) Duration of treatment?
3 days a week, 4 weeks (12 session Physiotherapy) prescribed by physiotherapist, Medication (if necessary) prescribed by Orthopedic surgeon, and home exercises guided by Physiotherapist
5) Cost of treatment?
Free of cost, including free transport and free investigation
6) Methodology
One arm non-randomized Clinical trail

9) What are the unique features of the project?
We are reaching the marginalized and most vulnerable women with highest risk of disability that can affect their physical and functional ability, conjugal, familial and social life and engagement of livelihood activities.
